·         Conduct rapid situation assessments needs analysis of female injecting drug users& female prisoners in specific locations, using existing secondary data, supplemented by second generation surveillance surveys.
·         Conduct operational research on drug use &sexual networks, & HIV risk behaviours.
·         Carry-out studies on lessons learned & best practices.
·         Conduct Epidemiological assessment in Prison Settings
·         Develop gender and culture sensitive advocacy and communication materials.
·         Promote gender & culture sensitive & rights-based programme approaches among govt. and civil society service providers.
·         Advocate with policy makersfor recognition of the need to establish female-specific interventions for injecting drug users and in prison settings.
·         Form self-help groups among female injecting drug users, prisoners and other HIV positive women.
·         Establish new drop-in-centre/s for PHC, sexual & reproductive health etc & continuation of the existing sites
·         Modify and continuation of the existing centres for the provision of HIV services
·         Conduct training and skills-needs assessment among existing and potential service providers
·         Develop gender sensitive training materials and manuals, locally adapted to specific social and cultural contexts.
·         Develop skills, including for peer educators, in specific technical areas (e.g., needle and syringe prog., condom promotion, HIV counselling, referral to other services).
·         Conduct training of peer educators on HIV and STI prevention, early detection and treatment measures.
·         Develop & distribute gender and culture sensitive training &other informa.materials/manuals.
·         Establish drop-in-centres
·         Develop and maintain referral mechanism
·         Support existing VCT centres or establish new centre.
·         Organise sensitisation programme for the national-level decision makers.
·         Develop &deliver gender sensitive training & other information materials/manuals as well as adapt in local context.

·         Support for participation at the national and international conferences
·         Document the impact of project on ground.

Outputs: 

Outputs 1: Increase in information available on female IDU and prisoners to inform project roll out and further programming

Output 2: Comprehensive package of services for HIV prevention treatment and care provided to female IDUs and, to a lesser extent their partners and families, in a timely manner, through efficient partnerships and contracting of technical out of technical assistance.

Output 3 : Increased access to and availability of female-friendly HIV prevention care and treatment services.

Output 4: Conduct training and skills-needs assessment among existing and potential service providers.

 

Output 5: Comprehensive package of services for HIV prevention, treatment and care delivered through efficient partnership.

Outcome:

Outcome 1: characteristics and service needs of female injectors and female prisoners determined and research conducted on female IDU and prisoners to inform project roll-out and further programming.

 

Outcome 2: Deliver advocacy and communication strategy delivered and successfully geared towards opinion and decision makers, and communities.

 

Outcome 3: Physical infrastructures for female injecting and non-injecting drug users strengthened financially and technically, with increased accessibility.

Outcome 4: Capacity, knowledge and skills of service providers from governmental and civil society organisations increased for the provision of gender-sensitive services for female injecting and non-injecting drug users and women living with HIV and AIDS

Outcome 5: Comprehensive package of services for HIV prevention, treatment and care among female IDUs and, to a lesser extent their partners and families, delivered through efficient partnerships and contracting of technical assistance on selected activities

Outcome 6: Services for female prisoners provided, in support of project interventions in prisons, including H71.

Outcome 7: Effective support and advocacy strategy delivered for female drug user and Women living with HIV and AIDS networks, significantly contributing to the network’s exposure
