  • Six belt campuses with sustainable infrastructures established as an outdoor learning centers of biodiversity conservation in six nodes of the project
  • Twelve bio intensive farms developed as a Learning Centers of organic agriculture techniques in Maharaje, Morang district
  • Three thousand 3000 local youths sensitized through awareness programs
  • Six government schools and 200 students participated in environmental education program
  • Fifteen thousand beneficiaries from Koshi Tappu to Kangchenjunga receive public education and alternative livelihood benefits
  • Broadened public awareness in locals about habitat and species conservation
  • Improvement in livelihood opportunities to locals decreases pressure from the forest and natural resources
  • Biodiversity and local knowledge documented and conserved in partnership with locals, farmers and experts through community-based conservation initiatives

Outcome:
  • Enhancement of habitat for globally and nationally threatened fauna and flora
  • Complete stoppage of poaching and hunting of Pangolins and endangered fauna and flora in the northern Chure region of Morang district
  • Establishment of a ‘climate smart’ village in Kurule-Tenupa with increased resilience to climate change
  • Protection of endangered biodiversity and threatened habitats in the rhododendron forests of the TMJ Region
  • Establishment of community-based protected landscape for people and nature  in northeastern region of Sankhuwasabha
  • High-altitude lakes and associated wetlands of in Papung, Taplejung recognized as wetlands of international importance

Impact: 

Better conserved biodiversity and habitats through establishment of Conservation Land Trust and Learning Grounds in six different nodes of eastern Nepal
