Budhi Ganga Hydropower Project as an important but small scale project primarily targetted for the regional development in the far development region. Lacated in the Sanfebagar of Achham District this project is in the pipeline since the process of acquiring the loan from the proposed donor Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Devlopment.
Input: 
  • Headworks comprising of a diversion weir and desanding facilities
  • Waterways consisting of a 5.5 km long abd 3.9 m dia headrace tunnel. A surge tank, a 219 m long and 3.5 m diameter penstock and a 100 m long tailrace open channel
  • Surface powerhouse with an installed capacity of 20 MW (2x10 MW)
  • A 132 kv and 88.6 km long transmission line to Lumki substation
  • Acess road of approx 3.5 km length
Outputs: 

The Budhi Ganga Hydropower project lies in Achham District in FWDR of Nepal. This is a Medium Hydropower Study project of Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) which is designed to meet six hours of peak load.
Outcome:

 Generation of 20 MW hydroelectricity.
Impact: 

Contributed to the electrification of the nation.
