The IFAD support-project benefits about 66,000 poor and vulnerable households living in the project areas.  The target groups are the members of poor and vulnerable households of 114 VDCs that lack the access to resources and opportunities. The project aims at reduction of poverty and vulnerabality of women and men in the hill and mountain areas of mid western and far western development regions. The project will be implemented by Minstry of Agriculture in the 10 districts of mid western and far western development regions. The project will serve to total numbers of 114 VDCs to uplift social and economical conditions of poor farmers.

GON counter part fund: 1.724 million US Dollar

Loan repayment installment : every six months

Service Charge: 0.75%

Final repayment: within 1 December 2049

• To integrate rural poor, especially women and marginal groups in high value agriculture and non-timber forest products, medicinal and aromatic plants value chains and markets
• To improve income, employment opportunities and lability to respond to market demand and opportunities based on marketing agreements with private agri-businesses.

The project benefit directly and indirectly about 66,000 households. Apart from this, a positive gender impact through improvements to women’s income generation of employment for women’s empowerment and advances in women’s literacy will be seen.
