AID MANAGEMENT INFORMATION SYSTEM FOR NEPAL
The Strategic Partnership on Subnational Governance in Nepal aims to promote more effective subnational governance in order to improve local service-delivery and support local economic governance. The primary objective of the Partnership will be to accompany Nepal through its ongoing transition to federalism by supporting activities to develop an enabling environment for the growth of strong and effective subnational governments that can respond to the needs of citizens, with an emphasis on the needs of historically marginalized groups, women, and girls. In particular, subnational governments will be supported to improve service delivery and economic governance, thereby contributing to local economic development and overall poverty reduction in Nepal. End of Partnership Outcomes: 1. More informed and inclusive subnational governance reform, policy discourse, and decision making at and between the local, provincial, and national levels. 2. Better equipped stakeholders to support the transition to Federalism, through elections, policy making, and implementation of structural and governance changes, and to ensure changes do not lead to escalated conflict or violence, and widely benefit society including women and marginalized groups. 3. Enhanced local government capacity for effective basic service delivery and economic governance that benefits all, including women and marginalized groups.
