Materials for toilet and drinking water systems reconstruction, training of community members, labour

107 marginalized and most vulnerable households have gained access to earthquake-resilient model houses.

250 households in Okhaldunga with partially damaged houses were supported in repairing their houses.

1760 households with completely damaged homes have gained technical knowledge, including earthquake-resilient housing construction, enabling them to effectively utilize the 200,000 NPR grant from the GoN.

170 masons and carpenters have acquired knowledge on earthquake-resilient construction techniques, enabling them to assist in the reconstruction efforts in their local communities.

Food Security and Sustainable Livelihoods:

12 damaged irrigation canals were repaired and 7 new ones were constructed, increasing agricultural production in some VDCs of Okhaldunga, Dhading and Ramechhap.

1340 individuals have gained additional skills and knowledge on vegetable farming or animal husbandry, enabling them to restart their agricultural activities or small livestock livelihoods; thus increasing household income and food security.

68 non-farming individuals have gained technical, off-farm skills like mobile/TV repair, iron smithing and sewing, enabling them to increase their household income.

 30 off-season model vegetable gardens were established, serving as communal gardens and demonstration gardens for households intending to grow off-season vegetables.

643 marginalized individuals received cash support or agricultural implements support, allowing them to start their own agricultural and livestock activities.

460 individuals have improved their ability and opportunity to do commercial agricultural and livelihoods production after receiving an 8-month training on commercial agricultural production.

3 collection centers and 13 cooperatives were established or repaired across 3 districts, strengthening community-owned enterprises.

3 mothers group networks were supported with endowment funds, enabling support for community initiated activities

Basic Healthcare Services:

2 Primary Healthcare Outreach Clinics and 4 Community Health Clinics were rebuilt, increasing people’s access to improved basic healthcare services.

10 basic health facilities that received support for essential medical resources and materials, improving the quality of service they give to the community people. 

30 stretchers were provided to mothers’ groups, ensuring that sick or birthing mothers can be taken to health facilities.

Water/Sanitation:

45 damaged drinking water systems were repaired and 15 more were reconstructed, improving people’s access to safe drinking water.

1770 households gained access to materials and training for the repair and reconstruction of household toilets.

15 toilets in community areas such as schools, community clinics, and CBO buildings, and 15 more in public places were rebuilt, providing more access to toilets within communities and VDCs.

Mental Health:

270 neglected or abandoned people with mental health issues who have been affected by the earthquake will recover from the trauma of the earthquake and achieve a stable mental health condition.

270 neglected or abandoned people with mental health issues who have been affected by the earthquake will experience increased quality of life from being reintegrated within a supportive community.

Households living in temporary shelters as a result of the earthquake in targeted VDCs have the necessary supports and resources to repair or rebuild their houses.

Households whose livelihoods have been affected by the earthquake will have been provided with resources and support to effectively restart income generating activities in order to regain food security.

Targeted communities who have lost access to health facilities due to the earthquake have regained access to resourced health facilities.

Targeted households and communities have regained access to adequate water and sanitation resources
