April 16, 2017: Launching of Development Cooperation Report, FY 2015/16

Hon. Deputy PM and Finance Minister Krishna Bahadur Mahara unveiled Development Cooperation Report 2015/16 on 16 April 2017 amidst a function organized at the Ministry of Finance. Hon. Minister Mr. Mahara briefly highlighted the key findings of the Report.

April 11, 2017: Agreement with the World Bank

The International Development Association (IDA) of the World Bank Group has agreed to provide US $ 100 million loan assistance equivalent to NRs 10.70 billion for the Financial Sector Stability Development Policy Credit III. An agreement to this effect was signed and exchanged at the Ministry of Finance.

March 01, 2017: Memorandum of Understanding Signed with the Government of UK

The Government of Nepal (GoN) and the Government of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland (UK), acting through the Department for International Development (DFID), have agreed to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) that affirms a long-term 50 year development partnership between the GoN and the Government of UK.

February 15, 2017: Agreement with the Government of Japan

The Government of Japan, Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), has agreed to extend 4813 million Japanese Yen (approx. Rs.4539 million) grant assistance to the Government of Nepal for the Project for Improvement of Water Supply in Pokhara under the grant assistance scheme in Japan’s Fiscal Year 2016.

January 23, 2017: Agreement with the World Bank

The World Bank has agreed to provide US$ 150 million loan assistance equivalent to NRs 16.371 billion for Strengthening Systems for Social Protection and Civil Registration Project. An agreement to this effect was signed and exchanged at the Ministry of Finance.

January 18, 2017: Agreement with the Asian Development Bank

Asian Development Bank has agreed to provide 206.8 million US dollar assistance for SASEC Power System Expansion Project and SASEC Road Improvement Project. Out of this assistance, USD 20 million will be used for power system expansion project as grant assistance and USD186.8 million will be utilized for Road Improvement project as loan assistance.
