  2. Prosecution- Effective implementation of the Human Trafficking and Transportation Control Act, 2007 ; Judicial and law enforcement stakeholders adopt a victim-centered approach; Functional national level case tracking software within the Nepal Police
  3. Prevention-Local government and civil society effectively prevent TIP; Potential migrants are less vulnerable to trafficking ; Reduced vulnerability to trafficking of the disadvantaged communities due to increased economic options.

Input: 
  1. Protection-Consultative meetings with key GON stakeholders for NMS and SOPs; Trainings on victim protection  procedures; Legal, psychosocial, and medical support given to victims of trafficking; Shelters assessed using the monitoring system developed; Research to inform policy on human trafficking
  2. Prosecution- Training modules for judicial and law enforcement agencies developed;  Trainings on SOPs for investigation, prosecution, and adjudication of TIP cases; Trainings on Foreign Employment Act; Trainings on the central database system given to the police
  3. Prevention-Awareness raising on the prevention of human trafficking and unsafe migration  to community members, local government, and law enforcement agencies; Trainings on safe migration and career counseling ; trainings on financial planning given to families of the most disadvantaged communities

Reduce Trafficking in Persons in Nepal and Protect the Rights of Victims


Outcome:
  1. Protection for TIP victims and people at risk of trafficking is more effective                                                                                      
  2. Traffickers are prosecuted in court and
  3. Trafficking prevention services are expanded
