Status Reason: The project has been delayed because of delay in bidding proces as well as earthquakes and unrest in Terai. Likewise delay in site selection and vechile obstruction due to heavy monsoon has affected the project.

Input:

Establish 60 Community e-Centers in Nepal.

Identify opportunity for ICT-related policy interventions for new ICT and renewable energy technology.

Identify appropriate technology on software, hardware and power

Enhance currently available e-content at www.telecenters.org.np

Construction of CeC buildings

Installation of software, hardware, network(s) and power equipment

Recruitment and training of operators.

Awareness workshop to sensitize on CeCs

Develop training materials and update operators’ manual

Explore avenues to strengthen CeC activities in Nepal for better coordination.

Impact: 1. Enabling and empowering rural people with the necessary tools to improve their living standard/livelihood by generating socio-economic development activities and access to faster and affordable information and public services.
