Support regional cooperation through knowledge sharing and development of best practices in the context of the SAARC Comprehansive Framework on Disaster Mangement agreed in February 2006.

Strengthen the institutional and community level capcity to plan and implement earthquake risk reduction strategy and disaster recovery preparedness in Nepal, a country that stands at 11th rank in the world with respect to vulnerability to earthquake hazards.

Promote disaster risk reduction in Nepal through a multi-sectoral and multi stakeholder approach.
