Outputs: 
  1. Develop and promote integrated approach for safe drinking water, sanitation and hygiene improvement.
  2. Improve WASH facilities in 54 selected schools.
  3. Construct 100 urine-diverting or biogas attached toilets
  4. Research on Household Water Treatment System (HWTS)  options such as colloidal silver filters, bio sand filters, chlorine solution .
  5. Safe Water Zone community where each and every HHs using any one of the POU options
  6. Five  Open Defecation Free (ODF)  VDCs where each and every HHs have toilet)
  7. Ten SWASTHA communities where there is no open defecation, all HHs using POU options, and everyone practicing hygienic behavior such as hand washing with soap at critical times
  8. Five Water Safety Plans

Input: 
  1. Community based interventions to encourage construction of household latrines and improve hygiene behaviors.
  2. Capacity building of the  implementing partners.
  3. Support in strengthening capacity of governmental bodies and other local partners and organizations
  4. Support in conducting baseline survey, gender assessment and preparing Behavior Change Communication (BCC) strategy.
  5. Support in coordination and collaboration with related line agencies.

Impact: 
  1. Prevent infectious diseases through WASH improvement.
  2. Enhance local governance of WASH sector.
  3. Improve nutrition status of women and children.

Outcome:

Sustained improvement in water sanitation and hygiene (WASH)  and improved health and well being of poor people in mid western region of Nepal.
